I’m a language researcher and writer from the Netherlands, currently working on a variety of projects inside and outside of linguistics.

I’m currently doing a post-doc at the University of Antwerp on Mind-Bending Grammars, a project on language change in 17th century English and social networks. Other research interests include strong and weak verbs, analogy, language play and game studies in the broad sense.

I am editor-in-chief of The Ontological Geek, where we write criticism of games and other pop cultural subjects, from brief thoughts to thoughtful essays. I also blog about music on Evening of Light (mostly mixtapes these days). Anything that doesn’t fit into those categories, you’ll likely find here.

You can view my publications page for an overview of my academic and non-academic writing.
