Cachexy is a young one man project form the Ukraine, which delivers to us a free netrelease with some dark noisy drones. This album has a very obscure, slightly industrial sound and atmosphere to it, and there is an emphasis on static, metal sounds and noises, rather than on wavy drones or synths.

Each track on the album has a distinct feel to it, and this makes them individually interesting. Sadly enough, however, some of them last far too long, which causes that distinct feel to become boring after a while. Especially the two longest tracks, "Life:Vermin" and "Reason:Logic:Scheme", suffer from this. They contain nicely done manipulations of samples, but I feel that they feature too long. This album would have been much better with more different themes and sounds. That said, the sound is very good, nice and gritty, so that's already definitely on par.

All in all, this album is not able to interest me for during its entire long running time, because some tracks are just too much of the same. Nevertheless, Cachexy has got some good sounds down, and I think that there is potential here. With some more experimentation and eye for detail, good stuff could come up in the future.
